Battery anode company Talga Group Ltd advises it has successfully completed its Share Purchase Plan (“SPP”) announced on 15 December 2020.
The SPP, targeting A$1O million, was heavily oversubscribed with eligible applications received for A$53.5 million at the issue price of A$1.45 per share. Talga received 3,991 applications, representing a participation level of ~53% of eligible shareholders.
Given the strong support from shareholders, and the potential to bring toward a number of development opportunities and further de-risk project development, the Talga Board has exercised its discretion under the terms of the SPP to increase the size of the offer to ~A$30 million.
Battery anode company Talga Group Ltd is pleased to announce the completion of its scoping study on the Niska South, Niska North and Nunasvaara North graphite resources in northern Sweden.
Key outcomes from the Study demonstrate strong support for a stand-alone mine and anode refinery, with robust economics driven by high graphite resource grade, high anode product yields and vertical integration capturing full margins of the anode value chain.
The Company sees the Study as an important milestone towards adding significant future anode production capacity. The Niska production, planned for 2025 onwards, when combined with the existing Vittangi Anode Project operation, would form the largest natural graphite anode producer in the world and largest anode producer outside Chinal.

Completed feasibility work on the start-up phase (Stage 1) of the Project show highly positive outcomes which will be refined further in the upcoming commercial Detailed Feasibility Study (DFS). Improvements in Project performance identified in the latest feasibility work include: Project development to proceed directly to commercial phase with Project commissioning in 2022 and commercial production in 2023, subject to commercial DFS planned for Q1 2021. Yield of Talnode-C (from graphite concentrate) increased to 99%, up from 88% in PFS. Total recovery of Talnode-C (from graphite ore) increased to 90%, up from 80% in PFS. Energy savings of 30% in graphite concentrate production. Successful piloting of proprietary sustainable purification process producing battery-grade graphite concentrate without use of industry standard hydrofluoric acid (HF). Ability to produce Talphene graphene products for battery and polymer composite applications from anode refinery stream.
